Be sure to check your kids for ticks. Apparently, their smaller livers can't metabolize the tick's blood thinners fast enough to prevent it from disabling parts of the brain. So far, two children have been diagnosed with this in Pensacola. Apparantly, if the tick is not removed within a couple of days, the child's lungs will be paralyzed, but once the tick is removed, the child should recover within 24 hours.
