According to the Constitution, TAXES ARE ILLEGAL.

But I do understand SOME parts of government need money to do their jobs.

There should be a ONE TAX system. ONE TAX, from sales of goods and services, NOT from peoples paychecks. One Tax that can only be raised .005% per year, but the people have to vote on it, so the government HAS to prove to The People WHY they require more of OUR money.

This way, WE keep tabs on OUR money being used by the government. And if WE don't like it, THEY have to find other ways to get the money. Lets say, like taking a pay cut.

Where in the Constitution does it state that taxes are illegal?

The Constitution specifically gives Congress the power to raise revenue and the income tax

16th amendment
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

So why have we always been told by "scholars" on the subject that "taxation is theft" and thats why people were fleeing Europe for this new country?

Thats an AMENDMENT, not part of the original.

No legitimate scholar says taxes are theft

Taxes are the price we pay to live in a civilized society

An income tax was found by SCOTUS to be unconstitutional in Pollock vs. Farmers at the turn of the 20th century

So, the DNC and President Wilson simply added it to the Constitution with the 16th amendment.

Easy Peasy, lemon squeezy!!

How did they do it? At that time alcohol sales funded the Federal government to a large degree, however, alcohol abuse during that time was at epidemic levels, wreaking havoc on society. So, the democrats allied themselves with evangelicals to outlaw alcohol, knowing that when they did that they would need to replace the revenue. So, democrats convinced evangelicals to support a national income tax to replace the revenue lost by alcohol once they outlawed it. First, they had to pass the income tax though, which they did. And to their credit, the democrats came through on their end to outlaw alcohol as they made Prohibition a Constitutional amendment after they had passed the Income tax as a Constitutional amendment. However, the democrats never planned for Prohibition to work. They even had bootleggers come to the Capital itself to make deliveries to the Congressmen. They halfheartedly tried to enforce Prohibition, but let if fail miserably, much like they don't enforce laws in immigration. They just shrugged their shoulders and said that Prohibition does not work, so they later repealed Prohibition. In addition to that, democrats reinstituted the taxes going back to the federal government from alcohol sales. In a few short years, democrats more than doubled the income pouring into the Federal government, which has only exponentially increased over time.

But today more people die from alcohol than any other drug as the state now sells it directly to the public.

This is how much the government cares about YOU!

The icing on the cake was, democrats blamed evangelicals for Prohibition to this very day.

3/5 ths of the state legislatures approved.

The Tax Code is the means that Congress uses to dispense favors to big donors and other friends. There are deductions and credits and exclusions riddled throughout its hundreds of pages, planted there as the "quo" part of the old quid pro quo.

Other than Congress-persons and the beneficiaries of these provisions, EVERYBODY wants the Tax Code simplified.

A FLAT TAX is literally the only solution, with deductions for actual living costs, so that The Poor aren't made even more wretched by the tax code.

But Congress will never do it; see my first paragraph above. And the Media would also fight it as giving away the store to The Rich.

If Amendments are so “easy peasy” why haven’t you repealed it over the last 100 years

There is no flat tax that does not reduce taxes on the rich and increase for working Americans

Lincoln planned on introducing prohibition before he died.

A flat tax with no deductions, else its just the same old same old. the tax must include all wealth increases to be a true fair and flat tax.

It will of course not happen.

The Golden Rule…..He who has the Gold makes the rules

After a flat tax is passed, the wealthy will slowly reintroduce their tax breaks
