Eight killed in central China stabbing: Report

25 May 2-24

The stabbing took place on Thursday morning in the city of Xiaogan in Hubei province, state broadcaster CCTV said.
The 53-year-old attacker surnamed Lu had previously been treated for mental illness, it added.
He is being held by police, who are investigating the attack.
The wounded person's injuries were not life-threatening, according to state news agency Xinhua.

Commentary:
Hmmm...., Mass knifing You have to keep those fully automatic knives out of the hands of citizens.
Mentally disturbed or otherwise, When someone is bent on mass murder they are hard to stop unless shoot them.
Like Japan, knives are regulated in China by length.
In Japan non professional household knives are restricted to 15 cm. in blade length.

Difference is China's murder rate is like 0.5 per 100,000 people and the US's in like 6 per 100,000 people.

And China's justice system is extremely harsh.

Yes and no.

Depends what it is. If two men start punching each other, they might have to pay a fine. If a man hits his wife, they won't care.

They have executions, the US has executions too.

A drunk-ass farmer in central China once tried to kill me with a knife just like that!

It's more likely that the wife hits the man.

Such fake news.

It goes without saying that harpy eagle would have ended up on the next day's menu.

A Japanese pupil was stabbed in China by a Chinese nationalist to mark the 93rd anniversary of the Manchurian Incident in 1931. Chinese social media urged people to "not forget national humiliation" and messages like "Japanese people should leave China" appeared on Weibo. This is the third nationalist attack on foreign nationals in China. It's time to evacuate women and children from China.

BEIJING -- A 10-year-old student attending a Japanese school in southern China was attacked Wednesday and a suspect is in custody, officials said.

The student was stabbed by a man about 200 meters (220 yards) from the gate of the Shenzhen Japanese School, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian said in a daily briefing.

On June 24th, a knife attack at a school bus stop for a Japanese school in the southeastern city of Suzhou killed a Chinese national who was trying to stop the attacker and injured a Japanese mother and her child.

Earlier in June, a Chinese man stabbed four U.S. university instructors at a public park in Jilin in the northeast and a Chinese person who tried to intervene. The four instructors from Cornell College were teaching at Beihua University. None was in critical condition.
