Israel signs security agreement with Greece
amid strains in ties with Turkey

TEL AVIV — Israel and Greece have signed a security cooperation accord.

The accord was signed by the defense ministers of Greece and Israel on Sept. 4 in Tel Aviv. No details were provided of the security agreement. Over the last two years, Greece and Israel have significantly expanded defense and military cooperation at a time of growing strains in Israel's relations with the Islamist government of Turkey.
"We're pleased with the strengthened relationship between Greece and Israel in all aspects, including defense," Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said. "Both Greece and Israel are undergoing a difficult period in the world, and I believe we view each other positively."

Turkey threatens naval action if Cyprus drills

Noble Energy and Delek are due to begin drilling for gas at Block 12 later this month.
6 September 11 13:58, Amiram BarkatThe Cypriot media reports that Turkey is threatening to attack Cyprus if it allows drilling of an offshore exploratory well at Block 12. Greece has already responded by telling Turkey to "act responsibly". Cyprus has been a member of the EU since 2004.
Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL) is due to begin drilling at Block 12 by the end of September under the terms of its 2008 concession from the Cypriot government. Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG), controlled by Yitzhak Tshuva, has an option to acquire 30% of the concession. The two companies are also partners in Tamar, Leviathan, and other Israeli offshore licenses.

Turkish EU Affairs Minister Egemen Bagis told Turkish media that when explorations were made in the past, ships from the Turkish Military Fleet were quick to make their way to the area. “It is for this reason that we built our army and trained our soldiers,” said Bagis, claiming that “it is illegal to explore waters that do not belong to them."

Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974, after a military coup on the island after a military coup on the island, and subsequently set up the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, which controls 37% of the island, but is recognized by no one except for Ankara.

Israelis could face trial in The Hague if Palestinian statehood recognized at UN, experts warn
According to the statute of the court, the direct or indirect transfer of an occupier’s population into occupied territory constitutes a war crime.
Recognition of a Palestinian state could, in theory, lead to Israeli officials being dragged repeatedly before the International Criminal Court in the Hague for claims regarding its settlement policies in the West Bank, legal experts say.

Israel signs security agreement with Greece

Greece has not even money to refuel any aircraft.
Greece's independence is gone for at least a decade, its sovereignty is gone and Greece is managed by EU and IMF.
And its economy is shrinking and people are violently demonstrating.

Better you forget Greece in your strategic planning, it's of no worth.

if Obama loses and the much more pro Israel Republicans run the country we will not abandon Israel, sorry won't happen, also you muslims and your infighting can never agree on anything. You lay out a perfect scenario for what you want to happen we shall see

You don't have to make this an "Obama-thingy".
As I said, USA will do what is Best in its strategic interests, especially when seeing the alternative options. USA surely won't take again China's money and make any adventures in this region after Iraq. Republican or Democrat President does not matter.
Turkey is changing from a "regional power" with the biggest economy to the "dominant power" with the biggest economy of this region.
The region's issues are now our issues.

The sooner the Anti-Turks make the mental shift into recognizing this, the less painful the coming years will be.

Coincidence?

Get used to it. USA is withdrawing and will go "all-in" with Turkey to manage and stabilize this region in wind shadow of Turkey.
Like any other "Superpower" looking at the situation would do.
There is only Iran and Turkey, with which USA coincidentally also shares a NATO agreement.

The point is, It would not be that hard to bring down the Erdogan government, a little trouble here, a little trouble there, get the Kurds involved, The turkish economy goes down a bit, I don't think it would be hard at all.

You don't know much about American politics I see. Obamanomics is holding our economy back, if he's gone and the Republicans control the government we will rebound fast. As I said there are ways to destabilize Turkey by getting them to create crises and reacting to them. Christian Republicans won’t abandon Israe,l get used to it. Turkey is a shithole waiting to happen if Erdogan stays in power

Yes, the USA is going to make "putsch" in a NATO-country and destabilize Turkey.
How about instead Turkey being destabilized, Turkey destabilizing everything in this region against US's interests? From pipelines to non-state actor groups...

Dream on, Jew boy.

Absolutely boy, There is plenty of hate out there for the Turks, wouldn't be hard to stir the pot a bit:cool:

"Stir the pot" like Turkey letting Iranian weapons through to Lebanon from now on?
Or delivering the Palestinians 1st class anti-tank missiles?
How about creating a bunch of new non-state actors in the region?
How about we just shut-off Oil and Gas pipelines?
Or how about we kick the US out of Incirlik, which is irreplaceable to US's power projection and its logistical capabilities?

Dream on, Jew boy.

So take your "Glenn Beck" Jewish-Christian gibberish and preach it in your Synagogue.

As you can see from Ekrem's posts that's not what this is about. I really can't see how you can side with these muslims who conquered Spain and forcibly converted and enslaved people there
