I was very excited about inflation softening…then I crashed. Because economists say the good reading was a mirage (a product of a lack of data due to the government shutdown during data collection)

From the Wall Street Journal:’

“Economists on Thursday warned that a big drop in November inflation had more to do with data challenges caused by the government shutdown than with actual changes in the economy. Unfortunately, those data problems might be around for months to come.

LMAO, Tell Schumer. It was his shutdown. Now you want to whine because there are no numbers to support your guess. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Keep digging.

Me? Or the economists? Looks like you didn’t want to attack economists.
Slick.

Makes more sense to pretend a guy in a message board is the one saying this.

This is proof you are the ones with TDS. The Schumer shutdown? Do you just repeat everything Trump says?

You saw the polls after the shutdown was over that the public blamed Trump for the shutdown? And why would they do that? Maybe because

Before becoming president, Donald Trump repeatedly stated that the president is responsible for a government shutdown. He argued that "problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top," and that the president is "the one that has to get people together" to avoid a shutdown.

"Economists" have been reporting inflation wrong for years. When food, housing rents & gas at the pump jumped over 100%, they were calling it 9%. Then Trump arrived and the gas prices ae coming down, but the rents are still jumping 10% + each year, and these illustrious "economists" are still calling inflation to be 2.8%.

They then have the gall to use that as a yardstick for a new Social Security COLA this month. Grrrr.

I dug a little deeper and Trump has said these things at different occasions different years

  • "I actually think the president would be blamed" in the event of a government shutdown.
  • A shutdown would be a "tremendously negative mark on the President of the United States".
  • "They're not going to be talking about who was the head of the House, the head of the Senate, who's running things in Washington. So I really think the pressure is on the president".
  • "A shutdown falls on the president's lack of leadership" and "means the president is weak".
And Schumer isn't even the head of the Senate or House. Republicans are. They run the government if you forgot. Every branch. Sorry if you don't have a super majority and sometimes need Democrats to go along. It's called Democracy. Trump doesn't know about that neither do you. You want a dictator or king. no kings.

Give us a break. Republicans voted to end the shutdown what? 13 times, only to be thwarted by Democrats voting to keep it going.

If Democrats hadn't insisted on giving Medicaid to illegal aliens, would there even have been a shutdown at all ?

If the report were bad, would this thread exist in the inverse?

EXACTLY.

GFY.

You should have given in. What was it you wouldn't give us? Oh yea, insurance premiums for everyone are about to skyrocket. Meanwhile, have you seen the new ballroom?

Give in ? To allow illegal aliens to get Medicaid ? Are you nuts ? These guys who tried to push this, are lucky they're not being arrested for treason.

At least the ballroom is something for American citizens,

Rich American citizens and foreign visitors. You'll never step foot inside. it's just one of Lex Luthor's grifts.

Do illegals get medicaid? Did they? Do you even know when you've been lied to?

From now until the midterms the media and the dems will try and keep the fact that the economy is improving away from the people... but they don't control that anymore...

You are just full of non sequiturs. Your ability to comprehend what you read is all we need to know to understand why you post the ignorant way you do. Go back to school. You definitely don't understand what you read.
I’m just making you continue to ignore the economists because you don’t want to pit “economists vs. a right wing message board nickname “. so you won’t say if the report was distorted, by the shut down . Yeah let’s do it basically what you have said nothing in this thread.

As long as you don’t contradict the economists, you’re doing a good job.

So you don't think those reports were prepared by economists eh? Glad to see you can scratch your own itch.

Was that the same economists that were wrong about their forecasts for this month?
