I didn't know about the eclipse shadows until today.
It causes cool crescent shaped shadows.

Most people do not know this—When sunlight is filtering through something like the leaves on a tree, each gap acts sort of like the pinhole of a pinhole camera. The light hits the ground forming round patterns, which people just assume are random blobs of light. Each “blob” is actually an image of the Sun. You don't really think much of it, because they are round.

During an eclipse, when the sun appears as a crescent, these “blobs” show the crescent shape. I suppose under a full annular eclipse, they'd even look like rings of light.
