Well if you had any doubt about whether or not eBay was basically a Chinese virtual store shelf you can put them to rest. I do a lot of shopping on eBay over the past 6 weeks almost every item on that has doubled in price. At first I was puzzled until I realized that all of the claims about Seller from Ohio, seller from Pennsylvania, seller from Florida are all just Fronts for rented that businesses that do consignment sales based on Chinese shipments.

I wonder if eBay will still have a marketplace for someone who sells used merchandise. I have a friend who collects guns and gun parts and sells a lot on eBay.

Virtually everything I buy is from private sellers...Have avoided any and all Chinese crap at all costs...Unfortunately, it all can't be avoided.

My wife and I ran an Ebay business for about 8 years in the early aughts. We used to hit all the yard sales and flea markets for those odd and rare gems and we made a pretty good killing at it since living on the East coast has a lot of old Revolutionary, Civil War, and just plain old shit that people value.

But its a shit ton of work. How much is a shit ton? Less than a metric but more than an imperial.

Our house is still full of debris from that business.
