Technology is advancing and now I have YouTube delivered to me by my cable provider. Since I am not interested in the low-level intellect of network television, I have been spending a little time on You tube and a lot of it is crap just like the networks. But there are some gems hidden among the rocks. One of those interesting gems is Dr. Todd Grande’s podcast. Dr. Grande has a PhD in education counseling and is a licensed mental health and chemical dependency professional.

He is not a psychiatrist, but he could probably tell me what kind of a nut I am if I were to ask him. But that is not what I find interesting about him. I like his tongue-in-cheek style and his deadpan delivery while appearing quite serious to the type of person who would probably watch him once and not get it. He does not share my support of the current president, but nothing is perfect.

Tonight, he was analyzing the Blue Origin space trip taken by some wealthy celebrities recently. His question was: did they contribute anything to society? His analysis was intelligent and solid, and I think he and I both agree that the venture was little more than a self-aggrandizing publicity stunt. He is a clever man, and he probably does not want to get sued so he is very careful about the lines, laying his opinions between the lines for those who do get it.

I think that might be why he did not reference an event by NASA and the space shuttle Challenger that took place in 1986 killing all the astronauts on board. By the way, that was a publicity stunt as well. The Morton Thiokol company engineers were ignored and overruled when they warned that the O-rings on the space shuttle Challenger would not function in the cold temperatures. But a publicity stunt was underway featuring “the first teacher in space”, Christa McAuliffe, from New Hampshire. Politics and greed won out after several delayed launches.

What did that contribute to society? Millions of school children were ushered into gymnasiums, cafeterias, and assembly halls to watch the first teacher in space. At first they did understand what they were seeing, but it quickly became clear to the older children that a horrific event was unfolding. A man with Dr. Grande’s credentials would have come in handy in those days. Lucky for those little school children they did see the intact crew compartment hit the water at more than 200mph with the crew still alive.

So now nearly 40 years later we are still blasting people into space for publicity stunts. An all-female crew, if you can call them a crew. It is all controlled by AI. There is not an operating button or dial in the ship. The stunts are for cultural diversity, feminism, et al. nowadays. Oddly, or maybe not so oddly, the Blue Origin craft is shaped like a giant vibrator.

Have we come a long way baby?

There was no flight
It was yet another False Flag. If you need to be convinced of that , make a Search of Miles Mathis’ paper on it .
In his Updates collection of research papers .
As usual he tears NASA to shreds with hard facts .

Interesting about space flight and women and publicity stunts. I will follow-up. thanks.
