The thing is the ones with Green Cards don't do the work that is being talked about. Since they are legal, they can work jobs where being illegal could be an issue.
The thing is, low end work is going to end up increasing in cost for employers, it was inevitable until things can be shook out with regards to setting up some form of legal migrant labor.

Until a couple of decades ago, construction trades were mostly dominated by citizens working in such.
Illegals have undercut the normal wages of then, by working for less.
Historically "THOSE jobs" were done by citizens before the wages and conditions were undercut by the illegals.

An error on the paper, or a lie. There's a difference. If you lie to get into the United States, you can be deported and you're not just tossed out, you get due process by the "immigration courts," not some local district court.

A Danish father of four, Kasper Juul Eriksen, was detained by ICE at his citizenship interview in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 15, 2025. He is currently held at the LaSalle Detention Center in Jena, Louisiana. The detention stems from a decade-old "paperwork miscommunication" regarding a Form I-751, which was needed to remove conditions on his green card.
Kasper Eriksen, a 32-year-old welder, had been living in the U.S. since 2013, and is the primary provider for his family, including his pregnant wife and four children. His wife, Savannah Eriksen, has stated that the family has been living in an RV since his detention and that the situation has created significant financial and emotional stress. She also mentioned that he had never been informed of any paperwork issues prior to the interview.
Despite his long-standing legal residency, lack of criminal record, and integration into the community, he was denied bail and faces potential deportation back to Denmark. Kasper's attorneys have filed petitions for his release, and the family is receiving support from friends and family in both the U.S. and Denmark.
