In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said he has "identified funds" to ensure the active military gets paid next week, as Congress stalls over negotiations to reopen the federal government.

"I am using my authority, as Commander in Chief, to direct our Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to use all available funds to get our Troops PAID on October 15th. We have identified funds to do this, and Secretary Hegseth will use them to PAY OUR TROOPS," Trump said.

Active-duty troops risked missing their first full paychecks on Wednesday, October 15.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reposted Trump's social media post on X stating, "President Trump delivers for the troops."

I know that there will be some disagreement with this move. Congress has not authorized this spending on the salaries of the troops.

But they have not authorized ANY spending on anything, period. No essential spending, non-essential spending, discretionary spending, non-discretionary spending, "nice to" spending nor any other level of importance in spending is currently authorized

So, the executive can either take a hard and fast "the law is the law" stance and literally stop all spending, or the executive can spend whatever the executive decides decides to based on whatever criteria it chooses. That executive is currently named President Donald J. Trump.

I informed you thusly in several posts over the last few weeks.

I wonder if some district court judge will have the balls to stop it.....You know damn well the vile dems are out there shopping for one.
That would take some liberal balls to do that. Stop pay for our military service people?

That judge better check that move out with LibDem Central, even if it is going against the Orange Man.

If the government is shutdown, why are taxes still being taken out of the working man's paycheck? If the money is still going in, then those necessary to be still working, should be paid. Fire every non essential personnel, because hey, they are non essential. The past 4 years that they were getting a paycheck sitting at home, can be their severance pay.

Yes, I was just thinking about the fact that taxes are still rolling in.

So, it isn't that the government doesn't have the money, it's that Congress has not authorized any of it to be spent. But we won't have a country anymore if not for some types of "must spend" money.

Congress has ceased to function as the nation's appropriator of funds. They have abdicated that responsibility utterly.

President Trump has picked up that power and responsibility. He can spend the money exactly as he sees fit, and there is no spending law currently in effect against which to measure his spending and say he is doing it wrong.

None of this should be a surprise, least of all to Dems. Chuck Schumer told you the last time a shutdown was in the offing that it would give Trump too much power.

Oh, and yes. Any employee who doesn't even go to work should have been fired long since.

Trump does not have the authority to do such nonsense = he is living an illusion.
