Let's examine the process by which demand "creates jobs" shall we? Does demand build a building? Does demand buy raw materials? Does demand purchase new technology and tools? Does demand hire people to staff the building and use the tools and raw materials to create a product?
When has demand alone created anything? Demand is an intangible. It can't create anything.
Businesses are motivated by profit. Demand indicates that a profit can be made. BUSINESSES CREATE JOBS in order to use the demand to make money.
You say it, "businesses hire," but it is the same thing. Hiring is creating jobs. Whatever the motivation, whatever the reason, at the end of the day it is a business that creates a job.
Cut out businesses and see how many jobs demand alone will create. Go ahead.
