Since Trump got into office on January 21st., the dollar has dropped over 10% in value (from 110.18 to 98.69 - today's close).

How will de-dollarization affect the US?

Impact on Currency Value: As countries and companies shift away from the U.S. dollar, its demand could decrease. This drop in demand could weaken the dollar. Over time, a weaker dollar might raise inflation in the U.S., making imports more expensive.

Yeah, I know. I just came back from the UK less than a week ago. The exchange rate was shittier than usual.

The one silver lining for us in that regard is that the Mrs. booked us a vacation this year in a country whose currency is pegged to the dollar so the exchange rate never varies. Otherwise I would be hating it. Sheer coincidence on her part since she booked us in January but I'd rather be lucky than smart ;)

It was lower under Biden?
I'm shocked!

I wonder if Trump is aiming to repurpose crypto as the reserve currency for the US.

If so, that is treason.
