Doesnt seem fair-$17 MILLION OF DOLLARS TAXPAYER MONEY pays sexual harassment suits for Congress?

Kinda bullshit, if you ask me. It might be LEGALLY FINE.....but it's ethical bullshit.

Congress paid $17 million in settlements. Why we know so little about that money. - CNNPolitics

How is this moral and ethical for taxpayers to foot the bill for sexual harassment by Congress.?

there should be non-partisan agreement that it is BS to pay out millions of our tax dollars but we don't have a clue what it was paid for or to whom.

260 fucking payouts for over $17 million for SEXUAL HARASSMENT BY MEMBERS OF CONGRESS?

HOLY SHIT

It should be PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE and the Congressional members should have to pay the settlements with THEIR OWN MONEY.

There’s a little-known fund that goes to victims of sexual harassment on the Hill. You pay for it.

Why in the world are taxpayer dollars bailing out sexual harassers in Congress?

Analysis | Over the past 20 years, Congress has paid $17.2 million in settlements

"In 1995, Congress created the Office of Congressional Compliance to protect itself from being exposed, and it has been remarkably successful," Speier said in a statement. "Twenty years later, 260 settlements and more than $15 million have permanently silenced victims of all types of workplace discrimination. Zero tolerance is meaningless unless it is backed up with enforcement and accountability."

Further proof of several things:

1. Congress / Politicians believe our money is their money to use on anything they desire...no accountability

2. Politicians have elevated themselves above both the Constitution and Rule of Law / Laws

The best way to BEGIN to putting a start to it would be to PERP WALK John Conyers, the longest-serving member of Congress who was just proven to have spent tax dollars on paying off his victims, right out of Congress for stealing tax dollars.

The list should be made public, but don't bet on it. The only bipartisanship that seems to exist on the Hill is to protect themselves.

So most of you think it's fine for Congress to pay off people they have sexually harassed with TAXPAYER DOLLARS?

Why, specifically, is that reasonable? Why should YOUR MONEY YOU EARNED FROM YOUR JOB pay off a sexual harassment victim of a Congressional sexual harassment?

Free money ! Who wouldn’t settle a claim if I cost you nothing .

Law enforcement does this all the time .

Bump this thread.

The CNN link is a very interesting read in light of the Trump indictment.

Members of Congress get to pay hush money to the women they have harrassed, and it's all completely legal, confidential, and even funded by the taxpayers.

They need to make the list public and indict them all.
Yes.

This is hush money being paid out from TAXPAYER funds.

Which is a LOT worse than an election law violation.

It's about damn time we hang the Sword of Damocles over our elected morons.

They won't behave themselves, any other way.
