Thinking of buying this lightweight one but don't know if it's durable.

I have Sago Palms which, if you're not vigilant, will produce pups. I've been looking for a way to cut away the pups without damaging the main palm. They are very viscous and gelatinous when you try to cut them with a toothed blade. It gets gummed up with one stroke. I had luck with a Harbor Freight digger/scraper but it's designed to fail quickly so I returned it.

We use them all the time in the concrete business. They are great for chopping through roots & hard clay and demo.

I'd suggest getting a heavier one if you're going to be cutting roots. A shovel, a maddox and an axe would be helpful too. Throw all of them all in the wheelbarrow.

I'm mainly getting one to deal with these Sago Palms. Although I do have an area with a lot of my neighbor's tree roots. He cut it down 4 or 5 years ago, so those roots might break up easier now.
