Does Anyone Else Think It's Weird That No One Knows Where Spray Bottles Came From?

It's not exactly cutting edge technology but it's also a design that's hard to improve upon: the spray bottle. For some reason, I thought spray bottles originated in England during the Victorian era and I was arguing this with my cousin. He forwarded me an article that claims the origin of spray bottles is a mystery. I actually did a pretty extensive Google search trying to prove him wrong but came up empty handed. But how the hell do we not know when and where the spray bottle was invented? The things I think up when I'm trying to get through a Friday afternoon...

The concept is probably ancient and has been improved on over the years. a good commercial sprayer is way better than the standard off the shelf items.
