It's kind of embarrassing to the ATP Tour that Novak has been a part time player this season, but as a senior star in the twilite of his career, was still favored to win his 7th Wimbledon! Even being down 0-2 to Sinner in the QF's, there was little doubt he wouldn't come back to win in 5 sets! It was relative breeze after that dropping early set in the SF & final! Novak will eventually be regarded as the best ever, so far just 1 Major behind Nadal who took #22 last month at the French Open! It remains to be seen if Djokovic gets a special dispensation to play the US Open next month! He's still not vaccinated and NY of all places requires it to work in the city!

At this late date, with all the data that's in, Djokovic's decision not to be vaccinated was actually quite rational and defensible. NO ONE at his age and physical condition has been reported as having even gotten seriously ill from the disease, let alone died from it. People with an armload of vaccinations have tested positive multiple times, and in fact are no better protected than someone with zero jabs.

But of course none of this will sway any of the Authorities who control whether he can play at the U.S. Open in NYC. Flexibility is not in their nature, unless the subject is a devoted Leftist.
