At first it was slightly amusing to have a quick stan Lee cameo in the marvel movies but it very quickly felt tacked on and annoying. He spent the last decade of his life being exploited even to the extent his business partner forged documents to have his personal nurse draw blood so they could use it to stamp limited edition comics to sell.

Now its Disney's turn as they will use him even in death.

Actually, Stan Lee's wealth and fame, at least amongst a very small hardcore fan base, came at the end of his life.

For most of his life, comic artist, even super prolific ones like Lee, Kirby, Seigel, and Kane only achieved fame for their work well after the Silver Age of comics.
