Neither did I. But conservatives on TV LOVE to talk about constitution, no less than liberals on TV love to talk about caring for the poor by taxing more what they call the "rich". When Bush 2 invaded Iraq (UNCONSTITUTIONALLY) republicans and his sidekick opposition liberals all CHEERED (up to the election season when it was time to criticize for brownie points) and they all cheered when homeland security was established to feel the boobs and vaginas of the women (UNCONSTITUTIONALY) while the Mexicans continued coming in here through open borders. I agree that very, very few of today's politicians (on both sides of the aisle) give two hoots about the Constitution. Nevertheless, it's about the only thing left standing that an American can fall back on for protecting his rights. Every now and then a court will actually consider the meaning and purpose of the Constitution when making an important decision. I can think of no other system of governance in existence that is better than America's Constitutional Republic.

Wait a minute, Truman invaded Korea unconstitutionally, LBJ sent Troops to Vietnam unconstitutionally and Clinton bombed Yugoslavia unconstitutionally. George W. Bush gave Saddam a year to comply with UN sanctions and asked for congressional approval. The majority of congress including about 36% of democrats gave Bush permission for boots on the ground. Democrats acted unconstitutionally when they undermined the mission.

Personally I want to be dictator but as to WHO would write it? I say lets do this. You get 1k people to sign your petition then we put it on a ballot for EVERYONE over 18 to vote on. Those with 75% approval move on to be debated more,cleaned up etc and put in the new constitution. Those with 50-75% approval will get a chance 1 time to pitch their idea to the people and will get a revote. No money is allowed,no tv ads,nothing. Want something passed YOU do the work.
