I have heard that essentially all children born at this time and over the coming years and decades, will have connections to the higher invisible dimensions of space and time that will astonish us adults. What this little boy experienced will become more and more common and well known.

Why could not a "hospital setting, anesthesia" be both heavenly as well as of course psychological....... because we humans are "psychological beings?"

Near death experiencer Dannion Brinkley in 1975 was shown that only the most courageous spiritual beings would volunteer to become a child who was destined by their DNA to face cancer or being handicapped. The angels FEAR the consequences of becoming human.... [and this is especially true if that human is destined to face the challenge of being sick and infirm as a child]. Thank you for this very interesting question Luiza. I have to admit that I had to think for a while before answering you and it came to me how you actually set me up to get into this general idea from an angle that has been on my mind for several years now.

For the past six millennia every human being faces the challenge of being responsible and having the power to try our best to discern who is lying to us, and who is telling the truth, [but I must admit that somebody can believe that they are telling the truth when they are in actually quite seriously deceived]? If you had met me before 1989, I was somebody who truly felt that Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong was one of the greatest theologians who had lived in a century or more. By 1991 I was certain that Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong was terribly misguided when it came to the state of the dead, [and if a church is terribly misguided on what really happens in the moments and hours after we die, how can that church truly prepare anybody for the afterlife]?

In the time of King David to King Solomon, the majority of the House of Israel of Bible fame, felt that King Absolom was telling them the truth, and that his dad, King David was a very bad guy who should be deserted and abandoned. The majority of Israel chose King Absolom over King David, but although the numbers were on the side of King Absolom, the will of the Creator was on the side of King David, [plus the supporters of King David although older knew how to scare the people who lacked experience in full fledged warfare or Civil War]?

I am of the belief that near death experiencer, the young Alex Malarkey, was telling the truth to the best of ability when he assisted his dad to write the book: "The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven."

On the other hand his mom, had control over her disabled son, and Alex Malarkey's mom, got into the "Soul Sleep" doctrine that I used to believe in myself. Alex Malarkey's mom got Soul Sleep believing pastors to convince little Alex Malarkey that what he had seen must have been a deception, from the dark side of the force? I believe that the first book by little Alex Malarkey was accurate but his second book where he recanted his first testimony was him being pressured by pastors, [sent to his bedside by his mother], to convince him that he was going against The Bible itself!

The fact that Alex Malarkey's dad, was making money off the book that his son assisted him to write, was also a serious issue in the mind of Alex Malarkey's mom!

In my opinion the theologian who wrote the following article is incorrect, [but he could very well be sincere in his disbelief about the near death experience account of little Alex Malarkey]?

I do believe that the Christian Bible and the Jewish Bible does get into this but in order to explain the Soul Sleep doctrine as Pastor General Herbert W. Armstrong did we need to do a pretty lousy job of understanding 2 Corinthians 12: 1 - 5.

NASHVILLE (BP) — LifeWay Christian Resources’ decision to stop selling a discredited book about a 6-year-old’s supposed vision of heaven is being cited as a reminder that followers of Jesus should rely on the Bible rather than subjective experience for their knowledge of the afterlife.


“Anytime you step away from the clear, revelatory, propositional statements of Scripture into your own experience, then you open yourself to every kind of weird existential idea out there,” Chris Osborne, a Texas pastor who believes books like Malarkey’s are unbiblical, told Baptist Press. “We want people bound to truth, not to what they feel or what they think they saw or what they experience.”

LifeWay decided Jan. 15 that it would stop selling “The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven” by the father-son team of Kevin and Alex Malarkey after Alex, now 16, said in a statement that he fabricated the supposed vision of heaven on which the bestselling book is based.

“I did not die. I did not go to Heaven,” Alex Malarkey wrote in an open letter to LifeWay and other book retailers.

“I said I went to heaven because I thought it would get me attention. When I made the claims that I did, I had never read the Bible. People have profited from lies, and continue to. They should read the Bible, which is enough. The Bible is the only source of truth. Anything written by man cannot be infallible,” Malarkey wrote.

LifeWay spokesman Marty King said in a statement released to BP, “LifeWay was informed last week that Alex Malarkey retracted his testimony about visiting heaven as told in the book ‘The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven.’ Therefore, we returned to the publisher the few copies we had in our stores. LifeWay is committed to becoming even more proactive the next few months in evaluating the resources we carry.”

In 2004, Malarkey spent two months in a coma and was paralyzed from the neck down following a car accident. When he awoke, Malarkey reported experiencing a vision of heaven that included being guided by angels and meeting Jesus.

Kevin Malarkey said he “felt no urge” to share his son’s story for five years, but he retained an agent and secured a book deal with Tyndale House Publishers in 2009, British newspaper The Guardian reported. Though Alex is listed as a coauthor, Kevin Malarkey is the sole owner of the copyright, according to information posted in the United States Copyright Office’s public catalog. Kevin Malarkey also owns the copyright for a “The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven” film and a Spanish version of the book.

Alex’s mother Beth Malarkey — who Christianity Today reported is separated from Kevin — has been writing on her blog since at least 2011 that the book contains inaccuracies, according to the Guardian. Beth Malarkey said she and Alex have not received any proceeds from the book’s sale, CT reported.

Tyndale announced in a Jan. 14 statement that it would “immediately put the book and all ancillary products into out-of-print status” and allow retailers to return their remaining inventory.

Last June, the Southern Baptist Convention adopted a resolution that touted “the sufficiency of Scripture regarding the afterlife” and warned Christians not to allow “the numerous books and movies purporting to explain or describe the afterlife experience” to “become their source and basis for an understanding of the afterlife.”

Though the resolution did not list specific book or movie titles, it seemed to describe works like “The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven,” “90 Minutes in Heaven” by Don Piper and “Heaven Is for Real” by Todd Burpo along with its companion movie released last year by Sony Pictures.

And I even have to admit that this entire topic is vastly more complicated than I had thought that it was even one decade ago. All of us are being pressured by BigMedia, of one form or another, to believe truths mixed with errors. Thankfully our eventual Life Review with our Creator factors into how well we accomplished our missions in life, in spite of our having been to some degree deceived on some important questions.
