FDR did the same thing with gold. He raised taxes, then used the revenue to forcibly "buy back" the taxpayer's gold with their own money, then raised inflation to devalue the money after he gave it back to its rightful owner. Modern day socialists want to do the same thing with your firearms and ability to defend yourself.
