The left, in California for example, have been calling for secession from the US for some time. Many of the left in California are of Hispanic descent and If they voted to secede, they would simply apply for inclusion into Mexico. As there are cities along their coast who disagree with California's sanctuary policies and demands to leave the US, plus many of the towns east of the coast, want to separate from California as they don't like the defiance against the US, I could see where troops would have to be sent in to ensure that those towns and counties that wish to stay in the US, be protected and it's possible troops would take over the so-called sanctuary cities and arrests made.
