However, sometimes there are historical anomalies where it can take much longer than a "normal" cycle.

The contention of many intellectuals on both the Left and the Right is that we are most likely just beginning one of those eras.

It could take another three or four elections, and a transformation of the Democrat party (or even a new Party) to alleviate the Left's plight.

I think since Obama the DNC has put on a masterclass on how to destroy a political party. The best tactics were to lie about everything and then accuse the GOP of being liars. Another was to use Identity Politics to mindfuck people into believing the democrap party was the party of the people while it systematically destroyed the working/middle class. And the final nail in the coffin was to avoid creating a better party and instead try to use partisan judges to attack its political enemies instead. They really went all out to get the people to never trust them and to despise them at the same time. Last one out at the DNC please turn off the lights.

My question is will it swing far back enough that people would want amnesty and unfettered immigration, boys in girls sports/minors getting drugged and mutilated and massive decreases in our standards of living to appease the AGW crowd?

Under Obama's presidency, the Left lost not only massively in Congress, but they have yet to recover their viability at the state levels. If anything - it's sliding in the other direction. Here in the Northeast, there is definitely restlessness and "MAGA" curiosity amidst the Democrat ranks.

The other lemmings think the corporate media presents to them the "moderate" lane of the political zeitgeist.

And that may have once been true.

But Trump pulled back the curtain, and their current info war is no longer a successful propaganda mechanism.

I still have the political mindset of my youth, which is old school democrat from the 80's. The democrats were right about ideas and policies during that period but they just lacked the right people to get them enacted. Then the party almost went bankrupt and had to make peace with Big Donors and the party became more and more corrupted from Clinton on. Lucky for them GW Bush was exceedingly corrupt and Obama was a shoe in, then they repeated the same errors of the old school GOP. We really do need to get Big Money out of politics.....

This was predictable for the Democratic party for many years. They willingly became a half of America's one party system, which created inequality that was no longer tolerable to the working class. They never tried to bring about social reform.

History could then predict that a democratic country would turn to accepting fascism.

America's future now hangs on a thread and could be determined by one event. One last act of defiance to stop fascism and save democracy.
