I have it on personal word from insiders that on Monday, democrats intend a hail mary to try to block Trump's certification by refusing to certify him.
They will supposedly attempt a novel interpretation of the law that was written back at the time of the Civil War intending to keep Confederates who had risen up against the USA proper (the North) from ever holding federal office.
Further, by interpreting the words within it which lay undefined to fit their agenda.
Finally, under an action of authority ill-defined in the Constitution under which they would try to assume authority to do so anyway.
In short, they will try to block voting to certify Trump under the electoral college votes on the basis that he tried to surmount insurrection against the USA and is so disqualified despite his not only not being involved, but that the only actual key evidence is Trump's two cellular calls where he actually urged people to go peacefully and lawfully.
One thing that is certain is that with democrats, laws and facts are fluid and mean nothing to them but what they want them to mean.

Another reason why I take the story serious is that democrats have been very quiet on the matter; there is no question that they want to do this and have looked deeply into its possibilities. I guess now only time will tell just how far democrats intend to try to steal/hold onto power however lawlessly, and just how prepared the GOP will be to deal with it.
