Everything didn’t start with the Clinton campaign. The Steele dossier was originally commissioned by a Republican pack in order to stop Donald Trump. When Trump secure enough delegates to ensure the nomination, the original purchaser cancelled the order.

Then, when the Clinton campaign contacted fusion, GPS for oppo research on Trump, they dusted off the Steele dossier and called Christopher Steele.

So based on your assumptions, there’s absolutely no reason to investigate any anyone in the Democratic Party at all. It all started with Republicans going after Trump.
