There a movie called 1984 it reminds me of our current democrat party.
Big brother controls everything in the movie controled by the elite.
We have more democrats that are openly socialist aka neo communist.
They want to control every aspect of our lives.
You see it more and more.
You actually think "1984" is a MOVIE. Doesn't that speak volumes.
Is it in line with the book, or no?
The only movie I've ever seen true to the book was the original cartoon "The Hobbit".
Every other one has been a disappointment. Not a damn one has been true to the book except that one.
I've actually seen the 1950s one, the one with Richard Burton in it. It was eminently forgettable.
I submit that movies are intrinsically an inferior medium for the same reason television is --- all the images, characters, scenery, speech, everything --- is dictated into the brain while the viewer is told to sit down and shut up. A book on the other hand lets the imagination run and fill all that in to one's personal tastes. In terms of imagination the book is "alive" while the film is a cadaver -- completely constricted to what the director thought should or shouldn't go in there, and how.
That, and invariably some of the various subplots and nuances the book goes into are either cut out, or morphed into something that never was there, for the purpose of holding an audience --- which is all a movie's purpose is anyway.
Back in 1915 D.W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation" depicted the Klan burning crosses. That had never happened historically. He just tossed it in there for image effect. The only reason the real-life Klan started doing it is because founder Simmons saw the movie image and emulated it. So much for "authenticity".
