Another problem with medicaid is all the fraud. Blacks and their doctors make false claims all the time and split the money.

Democratic Representative Brittany Pettersen from Colorado recently appeared on CNN and had what can only be described as a moment of accidental honesty. When pressed by Jake Tapper about Republican proposals for work requirements for able-bodied Medicaid recipients, she made a jaw-dropping admission that reveals volumes about the Democrat approach to welfare.

From ‘Breitbart News’:

“Actually, within the Medicaid population, you have a disproportionate amount of people who are struggling with addiction, because it impacts their income. And so, what you’re doing are people who have this disease who are unable to get the help that they need or unable to work, and you’re setting them up.”

All charity benefits such as Welfare and Medicaid should have a work requirement for able-bodied people.

Welfare should have a Federal lifetime limit of 2-years. If states want longer, thy can pay for it.

I agree though it's tough to say who qualifies as able-bodied. Blacks will say they have a sore back and who knows if it's true or not? Blacks will steal from whites anyway they can and see nothing wrong with doing so.

There was a time when most Americans felt ashamed to be on the public dole and would do almost anything to avoid that stigma. People unable/unwilling to properly house, cloth, feed their children would lose them to the state or they would be placed with other relatives until the parents were willing and capable of doing that. But because it was so socially unacceptable to be in that situation, most adults found ways to support themselves and their families. Being poor was no shame. Being a freeloader was.

Now parents who are alcoholic or druggies or in whatever bad situation and cannot or will not take care of their children are put on welfare and the kids are left in that very destructive environment. Many won't ever escape it leading to generations of damaged, irresponsible, 'useless' people. (Useless meaning a drag on society instead of being a contributor to it.)

A return to basic human values that most Americans once shared would do wonders to right a ship that is very wrong in that regard.

Ah, another race-obsessed, identity politics democrat heard from!

I see you are relatively new to USMB, so I will excuse the misrepresentation.
Representative Brittany Pettersen stated that a disproportionate number of people on Medicaid are struggling with addiction. However, claiming that all Medicaid recipients are addicts is an extreme exaggeration and can be categorized as a blatant falsehood.

A closer look at Medicaid statistics reveals that individuals on Medicaid who are unemployed are not the primary issue. The greater concern lies with those who are employed but still qualify for Medicaid. Many of these individuals hold very low-paying jobs, receive financial support from family members, or have undisclosed sources of income or assets. This reality highlights the complex economic struggles that many Medicaid recipients find themselves.

BS, read again. He made no such claim.

The problem would be determining who is able bodied or is fit to work. A person who addicted to drugs may seem fit to work but if they are really addicted, they will not be able to keep a job.

You will fund them through your tax dollars that cover the damages that they do to themselves, their family, and others.

Well if they have to work a little to get Snap then so be it

Keep a job. They can be on a chain gang a couple of times a week. Even they can do that.
