Defending the right to pray in our schools

She took a seat with the rest of the class when it happened.

God bless you always!!!

That is still borderline if you were to ask me. Your mileage may vary. If I were her boss, I would put a stop to it.

When I was a coach, many times my players would ask to hold a prayer, but I told them that I could not participate with the group. When they would huddle for their prayer, I would leave the area. I was not physically present, so there is no way I could be seen as participating. At that time, I did my own silent prayer.

The whole teachers-are-underpaid is bunk.
So, you are calling every teacher a liar when they post their paltry income? I taught for 21 years. I made 50K per year for 6 months of the time, and I was an assistant principal for two years during that time. I had a Master's degree in Education and 21 years experience.

You are clueless.

Prayer has never been banned from school. They can't make you pray in front of the class before lunch, like they made us do back in the early 60s, but you can pray all you want.
If it was legal in the 60s it can be legal now.

I was a preteen at the time, so I'm not too sure of the legal reasoning, but I assume the SC ruled they couldn't require students to pray in school. I just remember that instead of standing beside our desk before lunch while the next student in line thanked God for the lunch we were about to receive, we instead had a minute of silent contemplation. (first time I remember the use of that word). After a few weeks of doing that, we just went to lunch without any preamble.

I guess we know have too many liberal teachers to expect our glory days to return.

Do you have evidence showing there are more people from one party filing for divorce than for another party and their reasons for filing? I'm sure your absurd remark would seem perfectly logical to some gossipy old biddy, but not to anyone else.

Speaking of gossipy old biddies, you get nasty and personal when you're losing, don't you?

I noticed you didn't bother to even try to answer the question.

Do you realize "evidence" is a scientific term?

Do you know that trends are contemporary, and that means, they're too new to be scientifically studied?

OBVIOUS things are obvious

Seemed easy enough for you to label it a cult.

Praying is personal. Everyone can pray whenever they want, by themselves, without having to talk out loud. Why do people think praying out loud is necessary?

Matthew 6:5
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.
