So, does anyone know for sure what will happen if we default on our debt as a nation?

Will the Govt shut down?

Will the Military get paid?

Will SS checks go out?

Will military retirees get paid?

I doubt it will happen, but honestly do not know what will happen if we do.

My wife is wondering how it will impact her job with the VA. Will it be like when the Govt is shut down and they have to go to work anyhow.

Our revenue is more than sufficient to pay interest and redeem maturing bonds.
We just can't issue more net debt.
