There is apparently no Russian field commander in overall charge of the Ukraine war. Individual commanders have been competing for resources. 6 Russian generals dead, one Chechen general, the Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet (a political officer).

Now a loss of a capital ship and a mission kill of another. Still not using encrypted comms, still no combined air/ground operations.

This isn't even the Russian army of 1979, who built roads across the mountains to invade Afghanistan. Once the best army in the world at crossing rivers, today they can't cross a ditch.
