Who appointed them God, to declare thus?

That's a matter for The People to decide.

Thanks for the link.

I just took a long, hard look at it.

Nobody is obliged to impress ME, in connection with any of this.

Having said that...

I am NOT impressed, with either the powder-puff soft-and-fuzzy 'fluff' criteria being utilized, nor with the backwater college research department, nor its partnership with CSPAN.

Most of the criteria used are as unfocused and unscientific and non-quantifiable and subjective as could possibly be imagined.

I realize that much of what a FLOTUS does is NOT 'quantifiable', so I won't belabor that point, but - dear God - the fluff being utilized as so-called 'criteria' are downright embarrassing.

Jesus-H-Tap-Dancing-Christ, look at those column-headings; half of 'em made me chuckle and laugh. Embarrassing, indeed.

And who were these people serving-up their opinions?

Academics?

Golly-gosh gee-whiz, Emmy Lou... given academia's well-deserved reputation as a stronghold of Liberalism (and worse)...

Those fine, objective, un-biased folk just stumbled upon a favorable rating for one of Liberalism's more prominent standard-bearer couples in recent decades?

( this isn't directed at you, RW, but at the circumstances being served-up )

Isn't that just the strangest coinky-dinky?

Puh-leeeze!

To be fair, and in truth, at the moment, I do not have in-mind, a better way to gauge such things, myself, however...

That does not prevent me from recognizing and calling-out Horseshit when I see (and smell) it...

From top-to-bottom... the Criteria being used, and the Sampling Base (academics, rather than The People), the whole thing has the look and feel and smell of a false-flag propaganda piece... rank, smelly...

Horseshit...

To be even MORE fair...

No "sitting" (current, present) FLOTUS should EVER be included in such Ranking Studies...

Too much risk of partisanship leaching through and creating a Flawed and Questionable Result...

Only FORMER First Ladies should be included in such studies...

With a Sampling Base comprised of The People, not Academics...

Let's see where Michelle places 10 or 20 years from now...

That'll be the REAL proof...

"The prez is NOT AT ALL "incompetent"..
Not incompetent????

Today your first day out of the 'nervous hospital'?

Here's some reading material that you missed:

1.More than 6.7 million more Americans have been plunged into poverty since Obama became President.

2.Real household income is down 5%

3. Consumer prices are up 10.2%

4. Total federal debt is up 58%

5. Gasoline prices are up 82%

6. Food stamp recipients up 49%

7. Debt held by the public is up 89%

However, the Obama administration recently projected an annual deficit of $750 billion in the fiscal year that began Oct. 1, and $626 billion the year after. At that rate, the debt owed to the public will more than double during the Obama presidency.
As of 2012, according to the most recent figures reported by the Census Bureau, median (midpoint) income for all U.S. households was $51,017, which was 4.9 percent lower (in inflation-adjusted dollars) than it was in 2008, the year before Obama took office.
The same story applies to family income, which includes many families with two earners. (The “household” figure includes single persons living alone, as well as families.) Median family income in 2012 was $62,241, or 5.1 percent below the inflation-adjusted 2008 level.
The number of persons living in poverty also worsened again in 2012, according to the most recent Census figures.

8. As of last year, 46,496,000 persons lived in households with income below the official poverty line, an increase of nearly 6.7 million since 2008 and 249,000 since 2011. The total poverty rate remained unchanged in 2012 at 15 percent of the total U.S. population. So for the second straight year, the poverty rate was 1.8 points higher than it was in 2008.

You prefer a list compiled by the people vs academics?
How many people today are qualified to discuss Abigail Adams vs Mary Lincoln or Barbara Bush?

To be entirely honest, I have no idea. 20%? 10%? Less? Doesn't matter.

To honor and respect such results, it is necessary to take a cross-section of the American People, from all walks of life, not just Liberal-entrenched Academia.

My present inability to serve-up a viable alternative does not (and should not) prevent me (or anyone else) from challenging the slanted Results being served-up here.

And, frankly, if the Column Headings in the linked survey summary are any indication of the best that Academia can do, in serving-up Quantifiable Criteria, then, I'm more than willing to trust the collective instincts of The People.

I have more faith in Results generated by The People than I do in Results generated by so-called Specialists which are spoon-fed to the Public like so much Liberal-We-Know-Better-Than-You pablum.

God bless The People.

Yes.

Those very ones.

Your fellow countrymen - and mine.

The People.

What this whole thing (the American Experiment) is supposed to be about.

The People.

Why?

Do you believe that The People should not be in-charge?

Do you believe that The People should not be accorded the Dominant Position in any contest of perceptions and opinions?

Do you not believe in The People?

Actually this FLOTUS has done less then most other modern day FLOTUS's. It is just that we are constantly reminded by the media of "How much" she is doing for the American people. Most FLOTUS's are not in need of the constant spotlight as this one.

That, mine good colleague, is extremely unfortunate, and more than a bit alarming.

Please tell me that that remark was made in the narrow context of Ranking FLOTUS'es, and not a remark made In General.

I do not believe the vast majority of Americans can name five First Ladies let alone rank all first ladies and their performance and historical impact
Then I, for one, am content to let the matter dwell with the 20% or 10% or even 5% of the General Public who can, rather than allow highly partisan so-called Specialists to tell us what our Opinion should be.
