CrossBow for a SHTF situation.

This is one of the reason I purchased a crossbow.
Obviously you'd need to stock up on bow strings,cables and any other wear parts and of course extra bolts.
Being able to drop game as well as intruders silently would be a huge advantage.
And as long as you didnt miss,which is unlikely with modern crossbows, and hit a rock or any other hard surface you can retrieve your bolts.
Modern crossbows can reach out to a hundred yards and still be accurate although they dont recommend shooting deer from that range since their hearing and reaction time is far greater than a humans.
40 to 60 yards is the recommended range for deer. It's crazy to think a crossbow bolt can travel 160 feet further than the length of a football field in one second!!!
Considering buying a plan old recurve bow for its simplicity and the ability to make your own arrows from your local woods.

Dont think they'd hold up to the speed of a crossbow and accuracy would suffer for sure.
But yeah it would be cool to make your own bow.
