Deportation is not a substitution for incarceration. It is an addition. All deported are branded. Not tattooed. Branded on the face, very visible. If they return they are shot on sight. Most will leave voluntarily.

Sure, for first time offenders who have not committed any other crimes. About 40% are repeat offenders, making them felons. That means out of about 14 million illegal immigrants in the country, about 5.6 million felons. That doesn't include those that have committed other crimes while being in this country, so the number is even greater. Also, civil or criminal doesn't really matter. Even a first time offender who has not committed any additional crimes should be deported. That is the law, whether you like it or not. We have a lot of work to do and ICE is working on it. Sorry you don't like it.

I'd have no problem fixing the system so it can't be defrauded as easily.

There's more fraud in Corporate Welfare than in poverty relief.
