Cracker barrel loses $100 Million after rebranding new logo.

When will companies realize drastic changes cause lost customers. I understand there may be a need to update, but drastic changes turn away customers/investors.

Companies need to make slow incremental changes to not turn away their core customers trying to chase new ones.

They should try not sucking. THAT may help, but I doubt it.

Most folks that invest in such places do so because they (for good or bad) like to frequent those places. Change them up and they will sell and move on to something else they like such as Walmart or the like.

They went from a semi-unique experience with authentic old stuff all over (each location was a bit different in that regard), to a cliché TJ Maxx interior design.

The one I used to go to I had donated an old Iceman sign that folks would hang in their window so the Iceman knew how much ice to deliver....It was still there years later.

They changed their sign. Simply a tragedy of epic proportions. Lol

The article notes the drop is all over some perceived political mumbo jumbo.

People have sadly allowed politics to take over their lives.

If you've ever been in one and look at the decor today...you'll understand why everyone is so pissed.

Cracker Barrel was a step back in time. Now it looks like any other fastfood restaurant. Comparable to McDonald's.

How is the new logo woke?

I'm still waiting for one of you to explain this.
They took Aunt Jemima off of their box in a similar manner.

I rarely ate there because before the change, I always felt Cracker Barrel was for old people and hicks.

I would rather go to an IHOP.

Actually they are big in DEI and promoting sexual perversion

Something the old white guy in the logo would not spprove of

  • Woke up= Woman CEO.
  • It’s a logo change.
  • Right wingers are nuts.

  • Cracker Barrel is a victim of the shrinking middle class.
  • Customers are vacating mid tier restaurants
  • Cracker Barrel costs are rising and their customer count is falling.
  • Logo change wont fix that but neither will the same ole same ole.

Great to see all the business sense you right wingers have. If you like or liked Cracker Barrel you should support policies building a middle class.

This reminds me of a new coffee shop, versus a 100 year old house converted in a coffee shop. Which one will be more popular? It will always be the old house, almost every time, because people like that. Now they are redesigning it to look generic? These marketing executives are clueless!

Another marketing expert pointed out that the redesign risks turning off long-time fans of the chain,
with Bolt Health founder Kevin Dahlstrom, who has served as a chief marketing officer at several companies in the financial industry, describing Cracker Barrel's rebrand as a "fiasco."

"The holy grail of marketing is to create a brand that customers give a damn about — and feel some ownership of. It's exceedingly rare and when you have that — as Cracker Barrel did — you NEVER EVER abandon it, you only double down on it," Dahlstrom wrote on social media.

They are failing and the same business plan will fail. They have to do something. Here is their EBITDA by year:

2021$489M
2022$271M
2023$240M
2024$176M

Look above at the yearly earnings. They are failing due to a shrinking middle class that is broke. What would you do? Nothing? That’s not going to work.

They are barely clearing their loans based on peeking at the cash flow. Looks like they have a $70M interest payment a year. Can’t get earnings too low or they will go broke. They have a little time id guess.

You libs always love supporting bull shit that you're told to support and yet turn your nose up to anything that's good and decent.
