Or the fault goes to those who pursued this family. Parents take pictures of their children in the tub, on the pot or wherever. Their cute little buggers. Once the parent takes the film into a public place it becomes a public issue that can be and should be reviewed but I would say with enough caution not to invade that families privacy.
Wal-Mart isn't to blame. It's the legislators who write the laws that require companies like Wal-Mart to report such photos.
Wal-mart was doing their duty to alert the authorities. I would not want an hourly Walmart associate try to use their judgment and be the final arbitor as to whether or not something is porn.
I don't know if the authorities made the right decision or not...I haven't seen the pics.
The police and Child Protective Services saw it very differently. Police and prosecutors insist they did what they thought was appropriate. Steve Meissner, a spokesman for Child Protective Services, released a statement saying, "When a police agency calls us on a matter, we have an obligation to act on that matter. If we refused, the community would be very unhappy with us."
The city of Peoria also states that it stands behind the appropriate actions of their officers.
i'm pretty certain the Pedophiles are using Digital cameras and their own computer to download, vs getting their film developed at a walmart....
Kudos to WalMart personnel for reporting it. There are far too many pedophiles in our society, and someone needs to watch out for and intervene for those who cannot speak up for themselves.
What happened after WalMart's reporting this, is not WalMart's problem, but a reflection on the legal system.
I don't understand the need to photograph your children bathing and lying together naked. The old "bearskin rug" shot is cute, but anything more than that, in my humble opinion, is inappropriate.
I can't imagine those children growing up and saying, "Oh, I just love this childhood photo of me where you can see my little genitals."
How do the parents teach these children who they can and can't display their bodies to? You can't simply allow "family" viewing, because their are sickos within families. I worry for these children.

You can't tell the difference between an innocent photo of a child's bath time and child pornography? Would any nude photos of a child constitute child porn?
I possess bath time photos of my kids when they were around 3 and 4 years old, does that make me a pedophile?
Like I said sometimes common sense has to prevail, you obviously possess none.

So, have you seen enough child porn to know the difference yourself?
Answer to your first question mark. "There's plenty of child porn "bathtime." Sometimes the child's confidence is gained slowly. (I didn't see the photos.)
To answer the text connected with your second question mark. "No."
Answer to third question mark. "Would have to see content of the photos."
You seem a little touchy via "common sense" comment. Guilt feelings, perhaps?

These people did use a digital camera.
Many criminals are not very bright and some are very bold. If it were not for so many of these perverts that go after children it wouldn't be an issue. I feel very sorry for this family but still can society take a chance with a possibility of children being abused when some of it can be prevented?i'm pretty certain the Pedophiles are using Digital cameras and their own computer to download, vs getting their film developed at a walmart....

ahhh, but they had walmart develop/print? Do pedophiles really take that risk, now a days?
