False division between science and religion has to stop. People who believe in science do not need to reject spiritual laws; people who believe in spiritual laws do not need to reject science. For all people and the planet to be healthy, we need to respect both spiritual and natural laws to heal the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Truly effective spiritual healing methods are based on FORGIVENESS so the mind/body heal naturally, working WITH science and medicine, not rejecting either one. Medical studies have shown this. 2nd child of Pa. couple dies after only praying

Here is a newstory about the same couple losing yet another child after rejecting
medical treatment and relying on "faith healing only" which is false and fraudulent.

What will it take to stop this dangerous neglect? There are proven effective methods of spiritual healing that DON'T reject science or medicine. Can this be regulated as a health and safety issue without violating religious freedom? Or does the problem have to be fixed by free choice only by distributing medical information on SAFE methods of spiritual healing?

They were on probation in the death of another child due to not taking that child in for medical care. Why on earth were they allowed to keep the 2nd child at all? Obviously CPS messed up yet again.

They failed to recognize that the doctor's knowledge and skill WAS the healing from God!

It reminds me:

A man listening to the radio heard that a category 5 hurricane was bearing down on his location so he started praying for the Lord's help. Nothing happened. A man came by and offered the hurricane victim a seat on his truck heading for safety. The hurricane victim replied "I have no need of your truck. The Lord will save me". The hurricane hit. After that the flood. As the flood waters rose, the man climbed up to the roof. A rescue boat came but the man refused to get into the boat. He said "I am waiting for the Lord to save me".

Starving to death, the man's hold on the roof gave way. He fell into the flood waters and was drowned. When he appeared before God he said "I trusted You to save me and You didn't. Where did I go wrong?" The Lord said "What are you talking about? I sent a weather report, you ignored that. I sent a man with a truck. You sent him away. I sent a boat with rescue. You wouldn't get in the boat. You deserved to die.

One danger of people rejecting spiritual laws and fearing religion as against science, is it creates the opposite effect of people like this, rejecting science as against religion.

When the two extremes forgive and quit fearing and rejecting each other, we won't see weird stories like this happen so much. More people will be open to full information.

They should lose custody of all of their kids, and be jailed for manslaughter. If your kid is sick, take them to a bloody doctor. You can pray while they get medical treatment, if you have to!

I don't think some people understand that children are NOT possessions. They are individual human beings with their own life to lead. You are their caretakers and if your own ignorant personal beliefs put them in danger, they need to be removed from you and put somewhere safe. And if you do harm them, you need to suffer the full consequences.

If you have nutty beliefs like this, just don't have children. **** yourself over all you want, but leave children out of it.

Hi Noomi:

1. When I asked someone who is Jehovah's Witness about the issue of giving or denying children blood transfusions, which they feel is against the Bible scripture regarding eating/consuming blood, she explained that for adults who have a choice, they are free to decide to go with alternatives instead; but for children, the civil laws require the parents to protect them, so this does not apply to children too young to make that decision for themselves. I thought that was a fair answer.

She called it rendering unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God's. and following the civil/secular laws where these apply.
So this is similar to what you are saying, and the Bible does call for believers to respect the civil laws and authorities.

2. As for spiritual healing, there is correct way to practice this which does not involve rejecting any medical help. the key steps are forgiveness of anything causing obstruction in the mind. so clearly these parents haven't forgiven whateer makes them fear doctors and medicine as being not of God. So they did not do all the steps of spiritual healing anyway. something is missing with how they are taught, and in this case it is dangerous.

the Jehovah's Witness teach to reject spiritual healing but also to avoid certain blood related procedures, so that has caused conflicts also with denying medical care and lifesaving measures to people due to religious interpretations still contested by other Christians. So there are other denominations that have this issue as well, especially where the JW reject both the blood-related procedures AND the spiritual healing that could help prevent the need for such invasive measures by earlier intervention. So it concerns me that the JW reject both, as another area that needs to be resolved among Christians.

whats the big deal?
Just another death due to religion

It's a tricky issue. People have the right to religious freedom, if their religion forbids doctors, then its their right to refuse. And it's their right to raise their children in their faith.

However, children are too young to make decisions about their own medical care...
