I've been speculating for some time that if the GOP retakes the Senate this year he will not run for reelection. That will leave the field wide open for Sandoval who would start off as the favorite to win the seat and flip it to the GOP. Sandoval could be a tough opponent for Reid even if he chooses to run for reelection. A hypothetical poll done about a month ago showed Sandoval leading Reid by nine points.
