Think about what you are saying versus the message you are intending to convey.

Picture “the amount of caring” as a spectrum.

If you don’t give a hoot about something and say “I could care less,” you’re admitting to caring, at least a little, because there’s room to care less.

If you say “I couldn’t care less” you are correctly stating you don’t give a hoot to the highest degree. ;)

I prefer Dilligaf these days.

There's a good song by a local lad... Kevin Wilson.

OK... not for polite company.

"Couldn't Care Less"= something or someone is at the very bottom of the care bucket.
"Could Care Less" = if I learn a little more about something I already don't really care about there's room for less caring in the future.

English is a lazy language, or at least the American version is.

It was always "couldn't" until it got shortened by lazy speakers.

I have a hat that says exactly that. DILLIGAF

Picked it up on vacation in Lake George a few years ago.

Lighten up Francis. I feel like we know what they mean regardless of how they phrase it.

What gets to me is when people don't hesitate to be the demon possessed people that they obviously love to be. One of my most favorite singers, Darryl Worley that is, recently lost his tour manager to suicide and I've seen people say that this occurrence did not take place. To me, people like that need to learn how to shut their mouths if their frame of mind is not going to make anyone else feel any better!

God bless you and Darryl and the family of his manager always!!!

Holly (a day one fan of Darryl)

P.S. It's been said that the man suffered from PTSD due to his military background.

Snooty wannabe intellectuals tend to use “could”

The more down to earth among us usually say “couldn’t”

Without delving into 1srelluc's deep philosophical thinking, put me down for they mean the same thing to me.
