A Southwest Airlines pilot bought an airplane catering truck for $3,300. He spent 7 months turning it into a mobile tiny home — see how he did it.

I'm notoriously early for my flights. When on business, I pay the extra few bucks to board first on SWA/America West. Often I see the scissor trucks still unloading food into the plane.

Some pilot bought a truck and decided to turn it into a home.

Cool pictures. I question his decorating decisions but mad respect to the rest of it.

Taking regional airlines is great except that I am usually on a pretty small plane. I would imagine that these scissor trucks have to reach the galleys of jumbo jets too though meaning that they have to get up 30-40 feet off the ground too. I've never paid attention but if you can drive an RV into the Grand Canyon NP or Yosemite...I would imagine you could drive one of these trucks up there too. The view you could potentially get would be so great if you could extend that box upward another 30 feet
