Conway Confirms: No Tax Returns - EVER

He received a few million dollars from his dad… Then turned around and made billions out of it

Go look at the timeline of when Trump became a billionaire. (Assuming he in fact is a cash, cash equivalent and liquid assets billionaire, as opposed to a fixed assets billionaire.) You'll see that it didn't happen as a result of the million dollars he received at the start of his professional life, but rather after inheriting his share of his father's estate. You'll also find that he became a billionaire as a result of selling his name and celebrity, which, though a perfectly legit thing to do, is something that has no direct correspondence to the notion of turning a million into billions.

Lastly, by comparison with many of his peers in the billionaire league, Trump had a better head start than many of them yet he has not outpaced them. You will find some of them listed here:

Forbes reports Donald Trump is worth $4.1 billion; Trump says $10 billion. Either way, he'd be worth a lot more if he simply retired 30 years ago and put his money in an unmanaged stock fund.

Donald Trump traveled an old-fashioned route to fortune.

As he explained when he announced his bid for the 2016 Republican nomination for president:

“I made it the old-fashioned way. It’s real estate. You know, it’s real estate.”

While Trump did have a big head start — his father, Fred, was a multimillionaire New York real estate developer — there’s no doubt The Donald has created a fortune of his own. But if he’d stopped working 30 years ago, he could have done much better.

All he had to do was shift away from real estate and park his money in the same place that you can: an unmanaged stock index fund.
Sour grapes?

Forbes reports Donald Trump is worth $4.1 billion; Trump says $10 billion. Either way, he'd be worth a lot more if he simply retired 30 years ago and put his money in an unmanaged stock fund.

Okay....I'm not going to pretend to care about whether the man could be more or less well off. What matters to me is his intellectual acuity in general. He's clearly smart enough to make a lot of money for himself. It remains to be seen whether that savvy transfers to public policy making that benefits the greater share of the U.S. citizenry who had neither his advantages and opportunities nor those afforded to folks who mere multi millionaires.

Seventy-four percent of Americans want Trump to release his tax returns.

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump will not release his tax returns because “people didn’t care” about it during the election, one of his top aides said Sunday.

“He’s not going to release his tax returns. We litigated this all through the election. People didn’t care,” White House advisor Kellyanne Conway said on ABC, two days after Trump took the oath of office.

Conway’s statement not only echoes Trump’s Jan. 11 assertion that only reporters care about his tax returns, but goes further in stating that he simply won’t release the returns at all. She was answering a question about a White House petition for Trump to release his tax returns that had received over 200,000 signatures, a total that necessitates a White House response. An ABC poll from Jan. 12-15 found that 74 percent of the public wanted Trump to release his returns.

During the presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly stated his taxes had been under a routine Internal Revenue Service audit since 2009 and that he could not release them until the audit was finished. He further promised that he would release his tax returns once the audit was completed.

“I don’t mind releasing,” he said during his first president debate with Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. “I’m under a routine audit. And it’ll be released. And as soon as the audit’s finished, it will be released.”

The IRS has already stated that there is nothing preventing Trump from releasing his returns while they are under audit. The government agency, which is now under Trump’s control, further stated that Trump’s tax returns prior to 2009 are not even under audit at all. Trump claimed during the campaign that his lawyers didn’t want him to release the returns.

Some how I doubt that and he did not need to it to beat you far left drones!

So the only people that care about this are the far left drones running their debunked religious narratives!

The only lie I see is the LWNJ's that claim Trump isn't being audited. For all of you ignorant dipshits, HE IS BEING AUDITED!!!

Hey, moron, Trump's word is the ONLY "proof" we have that he is being audited, and we all know how "truthful" this charlatan can be....LOL

BTW, there have been several requests made for Trump to JUST show the letter from the IRS that he was being audited.........We can't even see that......

You've been had......Change your screen name to "Too Dumb".....

You are an idiot. Here is what the NY Times said about Trump's audit.

“Supported by President Obama, the IRS should declare Trump’s tax audit settled,” the editorial board wrote Wednesday. “The benefit of preventing him from further politicizing the tax agency would far outweigh collecting however many millions of dollars he may have shorted the U.S.”

Trump has frequently cited the audit as the reason for not being able to release his tax returns. But the IRS has said Trump can still release his returns despite an audit."

Trump has frequently cited the audit as the reason for not being able to release his tax returns. But the IRS has said Trump can still release his returns despite an audit."

If your OTHER half brain were functioning, you too would see that you've just helped confirm that Trump is a ******* liar...........(what a clueless :asshole:)

The IRS and Trump's tax attorneys say Trump is being audited and you call them all liars. If you had even half a brain you would take it out and play with it.
they auditing last years ?? The year before ?? Trump is a lying asshat and you idiots eat it up

Trumps tax audit is between him and the IRS. None of your or my business.
Then why have presidents from way back shown theirs?? Think maybe to show folks they aren't crooks, they don't owe enemies of ours spit?? Of course republicans don't care Just like they didn't care about their congress sitting on their asses for 8 years ,, Americans?? Bah Humbug traitors more like it

Trump's taxes are among the least of my worries about the guy.

I'm sure they make for a dandy partisan target and all, but in the big picture, I don't give a shit at this point.
.

You should be bothered by the fact that he is lying about being under audit for....the last 18 months. He could easily post the initial notice from the IRS that he was being audited, with address blacked out. The IRS ALWAYS sends a written notice. He should show it. Otherwise he's the lying piece of shit I've always said he was.

I don't believe a thing he says. He's so completely off the rails that all that really matters to me is actions he takes.

People can chase him around about his consistent dishonesty and bizarre insecurity all they want. Otherwise, it's about what he does while he's in office.
