Florida inmate freed over coronavirus concerns linked to murder 1 day after release
The good news is Joseph Edward Williams escaped contracting COVID-19 in jail thanks to liberal leaders and their 'CVID-19 Prison Release' policy.
“There is no question Joseph Williams took advantage of this health emergency to commit crimes while he was out of jail awaiting resolution of a low-level, non-violent offense,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in announcing the arrest. “Every murder, every violent crime, especially those involving a gun, is a sickening example of the worst in our community, especially at a time when our community is working relentlessly to fight against the spread of this deadly COVID-19.”

In an order issued late Wednesday, Hillsborough Chief Judge Ronald Ficarrotta (appointed by D Gov Lawton Chiles) authorized Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister to release certain inmates from jail. The order covers people accused of third-degree felonies, criminal traffic offenses, misdemeanors, and county and municipal ordinance violations.
It gives the sheriff the discretion to release inmates who are not believed to pose a threat to public safety.
Hillsborough’s chief judge authorized the sheriff to release people awaiting trial for low-level criminal charges.

Ficarrotta was appointed as a Hillsborough County judge in 1994 by Gov. Lawton Chiles. In 1999, Gov. Jeb Bush appointed him to the circuit bench. In his tenure as a judge, Ficarrotta has presided over the county criminal, family law, domestic violence and felony divisions.
In January 2015, his fellow local judges chose him to be chief judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit. As chief judge, Ficarrotta is in charge of assigning judges to their respective divisions. He also represents their judiciary at the local and state level.
