It looks like they want a year shennagins instead of the usual 90 days, that may be a problem. Some cuts, some redirecting funds, a lot of pandering, you know; pretty much business as usual. It looks like 90 some pages, instead of the usual thousand some, which means nothing to the regulation writers. The section breakdown is down to 14 pages for quick reference if you want to examine a section in detail. You could spend a year just going down one rabbit hole, and it's impossible to grasp the complex web of money routes that have been created. One, section 11202 'Afghanistan Reconstruction' is another one of those hidden gems that we are borrowing money to finance that makes you wonder. https://appropriations.house.gov/si...ull-year-cr-2025-section-by-section-final.pdf SIGAR - Home 159 billion budget 2024

Might as well face it, we're addicted to debt.

The humorous thing about it is that your cookie-cutter Republicans will defend it to the end. And, of course, your cookie-cutter Democrats wil love them for it.

Anyway. I'm just gonna drop this here and bid you all a wonderful day...

There is no way out of this except for a national bankruptcy, in which case there will arise a great economical and patriotic messiah.

I'm not defending the CR but the thought that the reckless spending will continue as before is a rank canard.

As an example.....The State Dept has canceled thousands of USAID contracts totaling billions.

Secretary of State Rubio says purge of USAID programs complete, with 83% of agency's programs gone

Rubio's social media post Monday said that review was now “officially ending," with some 5,200 of USAID's 6,200 programs eliminated. Those programs “spent tens of billions of dollars in ways that did not serve, (and in some cases even harmed), the core national interests of the United States,”

There is some attempts at budget cutting, let's see what the deal making brings. I don't think the federal government's ngos were taking this seriously.

Republicans can't lead ... MAGA Mike Johnson already handed his gavel over to Democrats ... yet another pork barrel CR? ...

Will the Whoremonger-in-Chief veto the fool thing? ... or does he go pussy again? ...

The problem is we have been doing CR's for so long it's impossible to just stop in the middle of a Fiscal year.

Pass this thing, and then make an actual budget for FY 2025-2026.

Pass the CR and Prepare for the Real Fight

What would we gain from that process? We'd be unlikely to move the needle much at all on spending, and create even more time for splits to emerge in the House Republican caucus with less time to resolve them. That effort is better applied to the FY2025-26 budget, where real opportunities exist for capturing significant spending cuts through DOGE.

That's why the White House is pushing the current CR hard with the GOP caucuses in both chambers:

GOPers passing Joe Biden’s budget because they can.
The spineless bastards are gonna keep doing this because y’all are easily distracted and aren’t smart enough to know better.

There is no way out of this except for a national bankruptcy, in which case there will arise a great economical and patriotic messiah.
He is already here. Trump was ordained by God to save the USA.

I still remember very clearly when Trump, during his first administration, openly professed that Thomas Massie should be booted from the Republican party.

And in that same week, Nancy Pelosi, speaking in synergy with Trump, calling Massie a dangerous nuisance.

Birds of a feather always show you who they really are when actual statesmen show up for work.

And for what?

For standing up to try to make sure that our Republic didn't die by unanimous consent in an empty chamber?

And Rand is pretty much the only one worth a darn in the Senate...

Saw that today. I believe Rand and Robby are friends and communicate quite regularly.

Usually I catch that show everyday.
It is sorta of weird now that the pundit from the left is a former DNC presidential candidate. (Marianne Williamson)
