Hollywood is about selling a product, namely entertainment. It is not about providing accurate historical accounts. Matt Damon puts butts in seats.

Ms. Wu is a product of the Hollywood system, takes money from the Hollywood system, and will continue to take money from the Hollywood system of her own volition while maligning it in the press. If Hollywood bothers her that much in how it does what it does she is more than free to walk away from it.

Great Wall was a collaboration between China and Hollywood and China could have said no to Matt Damon... The reality is Damon fill the seats while Wu just give you woody...

Also don't kid yourself and Hollywood does not have the clout it once had...

Adam Carolla (libertarian/conservative commentator) has had several projects canned because, as he puts it, the town (Hollywood) is very interested in making money but not so much interested in making art.

I think her point may have been that Matt Damon could be filmed making a breakfast of cereal and eating it and it would turn a profit; why does he have to take a role (or a movie has to be cast with a non-Asian) where accuracy is just tossed out the window on the first scene.

So......the racists in hollywood are at it again....and of course, damon is a democrat, the guys making the movie are democrats, and this woman probably votes democrat too.............and they wonder why the lives of minorities who support the democrat party never change....
