1) On August 6th, 2020, Trump banned Tik Tok from ALL US devices, if ByteDance did not fully divest from China within 45 days, here:
This Executive Order got tied up in the courts (there are some strong 1st Amendment v. National Security issues).
2) Biden cancelled Trump's order on June 9th, 2021 here:
He replaced Trump's order with a freaking study. Biden's order undoubtedly resulted in countless actual spying incidents on Americans... Biden did China another huge favor. Example here....
3) Now, our nation's lawmakers have finally realized what Trump saw well over two years ago, and they have passed in both the House and Senate, bills which ban Tik Tok from only government devices...
Took them over two years to address the threat Trump saw and took action on 28 months ago. Meanwhile, Tik Tok grew into the most popular website of all time, more popular than google.
