The prospect for propaganda is enormous. Social media is already flooded with obviously fake AI pictures and videos and millions of retards walk away thinking they're real.

The potential here is Star Trek (or beyond) on the high end and absolute catastrophe on the low end. It will only become massively amplified once it's combined with quantum. Google and others will see to that.

It's inevitable now, and it's here. The only bottlenecks are power (which is being addressed) and supply meeting demand. So it will all be about how we manage it.

And since we're no longer capable of working together to do anything, any reasonable person has a very good reason to worry about what is coming.

Yep, most of the talk in the AI buildout is power and the bottleneck. Don't be surprised to see data centers going up with their own proprietary power systems. Even their own small nuclear reactors (a few companies, like tickers NNE and OKLO, are way down that road). Don't be surprised -- and this is serious -- to see AI data centers in space, staying in a fixed position so that they're always getting sunlight for solar power.

Much of the energy drain is in cooling the chips. In Norway, they're working on USING that heat instead of cooling it. So they'd be creating new power from the heat.

I suspect they'll work out the energy issues. They had better. This is gonna be sloppy for a while, but it's inevitable. Huge dangers and all. Regular people getting crushed and all.

To me, the hopeful thing here is that somewhere in this administration, someone with some kind of influence is not living in the fifties. There's every possibility that there will be negatives to this (the first one that comes to mind is that the administration chooses the winners and losers based on who pays to play), but at least it demonstrates that someone is looking.

Right now, we're falling behind China. If they can do it with that government, there's hope for us. Unless we're just too corrupt now.
