Capturing the vicious killers who carried out the bombings in Boston will probably take some time whether they are Americans, or enemy combatants; prosecuting and punishing them will take even longer. I think everybody understands the procedure. Naturally, there will be a lot of speculation on the Net, and by media mouths doing their compassionate best to sell advertising time. Why? is one of the questions being asked. I want to offer two answers.
The first answer is that a few Americans full of hatred got together and did the killing in order to call attention to one or another grievance. Psycho-babble notwithstanding, covering their gruesome deed with a political motive does not change a basic truth; they are pretty much the same as killers who go on a killing spree with a gun. Note that the media is always hinting at a lone gunman’s political motive when there is none. So any political motive the Boston murderers might express after they are captured should be taken with a bucket of salt. There is one exception. They probably see themselves as heroic revolutionaries in the Saul Alinsky mold.
The second answer deals with enemy combatants who understand this:
Muslim fundamentalists are learning that every time there is an attack like the ones on 9-11-2001, or a mass murder like the one in Newtown, Connecticut the government takes Rights away from law-abiding citizens. The Newtown murders gave us gun controls; specifically universal background checks. The World Trade Towers gave us the Patriot Act, secret arrests, warrantless wire taps, searches, and seizures, etcetera, and the biggest travesty of all —— the Department of Homeland Security.
In just 11 years the original joke went from zero to over 200,000 employees and a budget of close to 99 billion dollars annually. All of those parasites with all of that money couldn’t find a hustling girl in a Nevada cathouse; so how the hell can they be expected to stop enemy combatants before they act.
NOTE: In 2003, the Immigration and Naturalization Service was put under DHS control. Question: How’s that been working out?
Conclusion: Muslim fundamentalists cannot defeat America militarily; so they must destroy America from within.
Strategy: Attack, and attack, and attack until the government takes so many Rights away from private sector Americans they will revolt.
Allies: Lone gunmen, Hussein & Company’s Socialist agenda, the federal government.
Finally, the media’s part in the Boston bombings:
Mr. Hagmann is correct in theory. Unfortunately, individual Americans can demand and demand until they collectively grow hoarse. The media is the government and their job is to make money while covering up for the government’s failures and misdeeds. The only way for a free people to retain freedom of the press and deal with today’s media is to eliminate the tax writeoff for advertising.
Remember that more than a century ago Oscar Wilde understood today’s Americans:
There is no doubt the blame for every major problem destroying this country can be traced to journalism’s endless support of socialism/communism. If there is any truth to my observation, it is also true that television journalism is responsible for every terrorist attack because the federal government the media supports refuses to define this country’s enemies let alone defeat them.
