"Los Angeles police officer passionate about improving the relationship between law enforcement and the children in his community has been left “shattered” by the death of a 14-year-old girl, who he mistakenly shot inside a Burlington Coat Factory just ahead of the holidays. “This is something he says that he will be living with every day for the rest of his life. He is trying to figure out a process to keep moving forward when he knows her family can’t,” Jones’ attorney, Leslie Wilcox, told The Mercury News. “He’s just shattered.”"

"Kim Potter, the former Minnesota police officer who drew a gun instead of a Taser and fatally shot Daunte Wright during a traffic stop, was found guilty Thursday of first- and second-degree manslaughter in the young Black man's death. Potter, who is White, displayed no emotion as the verdicts were read and was ordered held without bail. One of her lawyers rested his head on his hands at the defense table."

The American Media is very much part of the Democrat Cult of Hate.
They fan the flames of Democrat racism every chance that they get.
LA police officer William Dorsey Jones is treated like he is a victim and his race was never part of the story, and they almost ignore the suffering of the young lady who he shot, Valentina Orellana-Peralta.
In the story of Minnesota police officer Kim Potter she is treated like a racist and the Media makes race a central issue of the story. This probably influenced the jury. Both of them are mistakes made by police officers, but one is treated like he is a victim because he is Black, and the other is treated like villain because she is White.
This is not real journalism; it is racist hate mongering.

He killed the 14 year old because he would not listen. In the video the other cops were telling him to slow down. He had to rush in an be the hero without taking any consideration as to his actions. He should be in the cell besides Potter.

The Media should stop making race an issue in these sorts of stories if they really want racial healing in America.
But they don't because they love wallowing in their Progressive/Left/Liberal hate and racism.

Maybe some people have common sense and realize the difference between a stray bullet and aiming a clear shot.

It only matters when it can be used to crap on white people and to support more riots and looting.

If it is done by a black person = a'ok!!! Nothing to see here!!!
If it is done by a white person = white supremacy they will scream and it is time to freaking burn this sucker down!

The media is evil to its core in this country.

I don't see anyone treating him as a victim. He will almost definitely lose his job. The only question is, was his shooting of a chain-weilding suspect justified after said suspect had beaten several women. He is under investigation and may very well be charged.

In the story of Minnesota police officer Kim Potter she is treated like a racist and the Media makes race a central issue of the story. This probably influenced the jury. Well, yeah, because she pulled the guy over for a pretextual stop on a black person... that's what caused this entire thing to escalate out of control.

Here is another great example of how differently the Media treats police stories based upon the race of the victim and the race of the police officer.

Not really. The Somali officer was charged with and convicted of murder, a more serious charge than Potter go charged with (as she was only charged with manslaughter.) A higher court concluded that the murder charge was excessive and resentenced him on the manslaughter charge.

Another "apples to apples" comparison is the Media outrage over the Charlottsville car attack and the Media indifference over the Waukesha car attack.

Except it isn't Apples to Apples.

Charlottesville was organized by extreme right wing racist elements who went there looking for trouble and found it.

Waukesha is one crazy person who plowed into a parade.

You miss the point of this thread entirely

The “woke” lib white hating news media was front and center making the shooting of the black guy a race incident

but nary word about race when the shoe is on the other foot

Race is all you care about. Your problem.

Um, actually, no. If you want to find an analog to this case, a cop using reckless force against a dangerous suspect and accidently shooting a bystander, it would be the case of Officer Robert Rialmo, who shot an emotionally disturbed person named Quintonio LeGrier and also killed Bettie Jones, a tenant of the same building who was standing behind a door.

While it was a local story, it was hardly a national one.

The Cook County State's Attorney sought criminal charges against Rialmo, but could not find any reason for prosecuting him. “A criminal prosecution for first or second-degree murder would require proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Rialmo was not legally justified in using deadly force against LeGrier."[7] In other words, a judge or jury would “need to determine and establish that Officer Rialmo did not reasonably believe he, or his partner LaPalermo, were in imminent danger of great bodily harm from LeGrier.”[7][18][19] Evidence confirmed that LeGrier was armed with a weapon when the officers responded to a 911 call and that LeGrier was brandishing a weapon in a threatening manner while charging the officers. Under Illinois law, "a baseball bat is considered a deadly weapon."[7] The evidence was insufficient to endorse the prosecution of Officer Rialmo beyond a reasonable doubt that he was not legally justified in shooting LeGrier. In addition, it does not support a prosecution for the death of Bettie Jones, which under Illinois law states that an individual acting in self-defense and kills a bystander accidentally is not criminally liable for the bystander's death. (People v. Getter, 2015 IL App (1st) 121307). Therefore, if Rialmo was legally justified in using deadly force against LeGrier, he could not be criminally charged with the death of Bettie Jones applying the “same legal analysis as the shooting of LeGrier.”[7] Additionally, the Cook County State's Attorney could not establish the fact beyond a reasonable doubt that Officer Rialmo engaged in any criminal conduct when he fired his weapon causing the deaths of both LeGrier and Jones and announced that Officer Rialmo acted in self-defense out of fear of being killed.[7][5]

You and pknopp are both blind as a bat when it comes to the lying lib media and race

the topic here is the lib media crying racial injustice when the person is black and shot by a cop who is white

but then ignoring race when the cop is black

The media has absolutely no bearing on what I support.

Exccept the only reason why this case has gotten any notice at all is because a bystander was killed.
