The fancy-pants sciency term for this is "quantum saturation" ... or what I like to call "one photon, one molecule" ... once the molecule absorbs the photon, it must re-radiate a photon before it can absorb another photon, per wavelength ... just how the quantum world operates ... and this is reflected in the mathematics of Stefan-Boltzmann's Law ... irradiation is proportional to temperature raised to the fourth power ...
I can't say we are saturated right now, not until someone works out the math, but I can say the more CO
2 we release, the less effect it has on temperature ...
