The four plaintiffs allege the sandwich does not contain any rib meat, but instead is made up of ground-up portions of pork shoulder, heart and scalded stomach.

Well crap that ruined my weekend
Don't sweat it. So it's pork mystery meat. Big deal. We like the flavor, when it comes around. Sometimes have to get rid of half the sauce, as they drown it, and can be messy, but McRib is a good change sandwich.

It tastes more like pork shoulder than pork rib. But I haven't had one in decades. They may have changed the ingredients after all that time.

Don't forget that it is flavored with artificial rib flavoring them pressed into a mold to be shaped like a rib.

Much to do about nothing

It tast good so people will order it.

I have not order a rib sandwich in a long time.

I just stick to the basic and who knows what is in the burger meat ?

It is mystery meat. Probably like sausage, a mixture of whatever, but compressed to look similar to rib. I don't even want to know what is in it. Its enough, that it tastes good. Mickey D's is not known for high cuisine, strictly quick comfort food to feed the engine short-term on the go. Somebody is just looking for a payday from McDonalds.

So, there could be dead cats, dogs, rats or even babies in there, just so long as it seems tasty?

Damn, I hope not, but you could be right. Did you ever read Upton Sinclair's The Jungle? When it comes to processed meats, you very well may sleep better, not knowing, especially with some of the compounds fillers and flavor enhancers in many fast foods now days. Don't make a regular diet of fast food ground processed meat or fish sandwiches. You are running the original multi-fuel engine. You can literally live on damn near anything (trust me. I have had survival training) in the short run, but simply have to not let some things become your daily diet.

I had a relative in the meat butchering industry. I know very well what goes into meat. Bottom line, all meat products are made as cheap as possible with fillers to cut costs so to increase enough profit to stay in business because not everyone is willing to pay $30/pound for T-bone.

Yes I did when I was a kid. It was in the fiction section at the library.

It was very disturbing. And even though it was only fiction, it led to significant changes in policy. That's how ******* disturbing it was.

"Country Style Pork Ribs" are not rib meat either. Do the plaintiffs want to go after everyone for the past 100 years who has used that to label the cut of meat? They should go after the butchers, cook book authors, and publishers while they're at it.

Haven’t eaten McDonald since they changed the oil for fries a few decades ago

Given that the “meat” in their burgers never spoils, I’ll never go back

This makes me wonder if all those chicken wings they sell are real of fabricated. Then again, maybe they did the John Madden turkey thing and bred chickens with 10 wings apiece.

Yes. Disturbing. Watch what you eat, when you can.

Over 1,000 regulators and safety inspectors have left the FDA during the Trump administration, contributing to significant staffing reductions across federal health agencies. This has raised concerns about the agency's ability to effectively regulate food and drug safety. Brookings food-safety.com

I shudder to think how much junk food I ate in my younger days especially before I got married. True the human body is remarkably resilient, but it's just a good idea to cut the fat, sugar and processed meat down when you get older. I had a ringside seat of what happens to you if you don't with my Dad.

That's right. It's a marketing term , not an anatomical term. I worked in my grandfather's butcher shop when I was a kid. Country style pork ribs come from the shoulder, not the rib.

I always thought the McRib tasted like pork shoulder, the same meat as Spam. Maybe the McSpam didn't sound as good as McRib. Now that I think about it, the McRib is basically a Spam sandwich.

I just don't care for the sauce. I bet the sauce is made from poison.
