My pattern recognition is flaring up with all this Maduro crap. Feels like a CIA op to get him out and install a friendly. If they are not successful, Maduro will end up dead.

This is not saying he isn't a bad guy. Plus, if trying to influence another country's election distracts the CIA from further influencing our elections here, I guess it's ok. I would prefer that the CIA was completely dismantled and the foreign intelligence service be completely rebuilt with an appropriate and narrow mission of just foreign intelligence. They went off the rails starting with Dulles.

This isn't the same CIA it once was. Like every other US government agency today, you can bet they're packed full of DEI hires who are more concerned with pronouns than overthrowing commie governments. Why would a bunch of sympathetic commies in the American intelligence community want to overthrow some country whose leftist core beliefs are aligned with theirs?

Hell, the former CIA Director John Brennan was a communist, fer Christ's sake. So was former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Our species has always competed with one another, a battle of nations for influence to improve the lot of their nations citizens and influence. Russia is doing it, so is China, Israel, Sweden, Bahamas, and yes, America.

I believe in a military that defends our country, and that belief was further strengthened during my year in Vietnam as a young man. I realized shortly after arriving that they had not invaded our country, we had invaded their country. We had no business there at all. Nothing has changed in all these years. As we did in Vietnam, we practice military aggression and deception around the globe. True, much of it today is on behalf of Israel, but still.

Smedley Butler USMC noted that war is a racket. A century ago he noted that US Marines and soldiers die defending special interests and corporations. He was right.

Well, if they could get Trump out in 2020 then they might have a good shot and getting Maduro out. I wonder how many they can afford to take off the Trump detail in 2024 in order to work on Venezuela and which one is more important to them?
