Schumer finally acknowledging that his party is utterly lost, completely owned by Donald Trump, and on it's way out is a big step.

This could be the beginning of the remaking of the party into what it used to be in JFK's day.

Unfortunately, Schumer is also on his way out. If he doesn't get "Luigi'd" by his own party for talking to Trump, he'll be voted out and replaced with a radical terrorist like a Jasmine Crockett or AOC type, or a useless emo theater kid like Cory Booker.

I wonder if Schumer and Pelosi are planning to torch the place on their way out?

Do not believe the democrat cult is going anywhere. You will still have those who desire power and those that are easily led to keep it alive. They will still be claiming every republican cult member running for office is Hitler and trying to end democracy many years after Trump is long gone.

That does not mean the republican cult is better. It just means they are not as crazy as the other

Truth. One wonders how long the DNP poobas allow the Far Left to ruin their party before they adopt a more moderate agenda and then stick to it. It'll be interesting to see who they run for Congress in 2026, will the moderates make something of a comeback or will the crazies continue to control the DNP.

Also truth. But it appears to be a close race. If Trump leads us into a recession as many project then we could see a resurgent DNP in 2028 and beyond.

New York has a lot of red in it, like most states do. I don't know if a far left woke progressive can win a state wide contest. These types of people can do well in local elections but have a much harder time outside dark blue districts.

At this point, they don't need to. Trump is doing all of the Democrats' work for them.

2024 Presidential election

Note that Staten Island, part of New York City, is dark red.

Don't forget African Man Bad as well.

The dems are extremely toxic but don't discount the fact that both parties are like herpes and tend to come back with even nastier infections.

Back in the Reagan years, many people thought the DNP was dead. They weren't and bounced back with Clinton in 1992. But the Far Left wasn't running the show then like they are now, and Clinton was a moderate who was willing to work with the GOP and that doesn't fly with today's democrats. So, it's hard to see them bouncing back now, but it could happen if Trump screws up more than Biden did. Hope and Change 2.0. 3.0? Whatever.

Yeah, that divide & conquer mentality the RNC/DNC corporations foster upon the American constituency is really something, like the vast majority of the American constituency don't have any idea that they are being "massaged/groomed" to keep the status quo as is. That 50/50 split in the two chambers of congress seldom changes much if any so it's obvious it's a manipulated setup to keep the American constituency off balance & @ each others throats.

The often used adage of; "History Repeats Itself" cannot be missed with the two below links illustrating two toxic groups of the 'same religion' of Power & Control using the divide & conquer strategy in an attempt to suck in the ignorant among the masses. The past, is still alive & doing well in current America.;

Yep the good ole Power & Control religion(god complex), don't leave sanity without it!

I never believe any of the fools that scream recession. Look at how many were screaming it when Biden was in. There are just too many variables. Every company, every board of directors are making decisions daily. They may decide to move manufacturing, they may decide to take a little less profit. A company may decide to open a second plant anywhere in the world. In fact the last job report showed almost double the predicted growth.
We always have people that will use scare tactics.
The environment, unemployment, the wealthy, a recession. That person is Hitler. They want to end democracy.
Then you have the other side of the scare tactics. The economy is great, do not believe the numbers on inflation. He is in control he was not really trying to shake hands with an unseen person.
All in all it is a wait and see. You have to remember that bias influences everyone. Scientists, doctors, economists. Even the lowliest of workers. So you see what you want to see. If you want a republican to fail you see signs of them failing. If you want a democrat to fail you see signs of them failing.

The BIG MONEY in the tanking Dem party is in panic mode. They blew $2 billion on the Biden/Kamala fiasco and didn't get a dime of their money back from the investment. The big money has suddenly realized the Dem party is run by morons.

In normal times, yes. At this moment in time how are CEO's supposed to confidently make any kind of decision with the ground constantly shifting under their feet? They can't. So cap ex gets delayed due to a paralysis gripping corporate America.

Biggest risk from tariffs is ‘corporate paralysis,’ says Bank of America

Consumer confidence slumps to 12-year low as Americans fret over their financial prospects

Americans are increasingly anxious about their financial prospects, with a closely watched gauge of consumer confidence slumping to a 12-year low amid growing concerns about tariffs and inflation.

The Conference Board said Tuesday that its consumer confidence index fell 7.2 points in March to 92.9, the fourth straight monthly decline and its lowest level since January of 2021. The reading was short of analysts expectations for a reading of 94.5, according to a survey by FactSet.

The consumer confidence index measures both Americans' assessment of current economic conditions and their outlook for the next six months. The business group found that the measure of Americans' short-term expectations for income, business and the job market fell 9.6 points to 65.2. That's the lowest reading in 12 years and well below the threshold of 80, which the Conference Board says can signal a potential recession in the near future.
